Meet the organizers

Dmitry Zhemerov
Chairperson

I am Dmitry, formerly a software developer and now doing my pre-master in linguistics. I'm interested in historical linguistics and digital humanities. Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Giorgia Zantei
Assessor

I’m Giorgia, I am a first-year MA (Specialization) student from Italy. I love African languages and tones. When I was a kid I wanted to become like Lara Croft because I thought that archeologists could go places and shoot men… what a nerd.

Jolan Douwes
Treasurer

I'm Jolan, a T.W.I.S.T. veteran and now in charge of the finances for this year's Conference! I'm in the Linguistics Research Master and my interests are anthropological and environmental linguistics.

Katarina Eder
Assessor

I am a first-year ResMA Linguistics student from Austria. My interests include sociolinguistics and discourse linguistics, with a focus on the German language, migration and youth languages. Previously, I also focussed on the Romance language family and language attrition. I am already super excited to hear all about everyone's research at our conference!

Pati Tatar
Board Member

I’m Pati, the current chair of T.W.I.S.T., here to provide whatever services the Conference miᵹht require. I’m in the third year of the BA Linᵹuistics, studyinᵹ Comparative Indo-European Linᵹuistics and Lanᵹuaᵹe & Coᵹnition. My interests mostly reᵹard underlyinᵹ representations and how they can be used in historical linᵹuistics, as well as work with Proto-Indo-European itself. My favorite type of frontier crossinᵹ is between these fields!

Thijs de Groot
Graphics Design

I'm Thijs de Groot. I'm in third year linguistics now: Language in Use and Descriptive Linguistics. I'm very interested in Dutch dialectology, Low Saxon, sociolinguistics and pragmatics in general. Guess which track I like more...
I'm not really in the frontiers of ConferenCie this year,
rather I work on design in the background.

Ainsley Graham
Secretary

My name is Ainsley, and I’m a second year student from the US. I love everything related to Linguistics but I’m especially interested in heritage languages and speakers!
